This session will be facilitated by Sarah Cullen, Donation Specialist Nursing Coordinator at DonateLife Tasmania.
Sarah has been an ICU nurse for the last 13 years in Melbourne, Cairns and now in Launceston and took up the DSNC role in February this year. Passionate about organ donation after working on ‘both sides’ in her ICU career, she has witnessed the amazing transformation a transplant can bring to recipients and also the comfort that donation can provide to families faced with the sudden death of a loved one.
Caring for donor families is a major part of our role and we hear time and time again about how much relief it brings families to know that something so amazing has come out of such a tragic situation.
Note: Registration confirmation emails will include ANZICS determination of brain death form for review by delegates prior to the session. Also included is a video link to an ANZICS demonstration, which is optional but maybe beneficial to view prior to the event.
